Former premiership player Nick Lynch has been appointed Macleod Football Club senior coach for the next two seasons.

Lynch will take over at the end of the 2024 season.

The Lynch family has a strong relationship and history with both the senior and junior clubs. Nick’s father Mark coached junior teams, Macleod’s reserves and is a former president of the senior club.

Nick played most of his junior football at Macleod, including Colts premierships in 2002-03, and has also played at VFL level for Coburg and in the Coates Talent League for the Northern Knights.

He played key roles in Macleod’s 2009 (Division 2) and 2015 (Division 1) senior premierships and was a noted goalkicker, once booting 100 goals in a season.

“We are delighted to welcome Nick back to the club where he has had great success as a premiership player,” Macleod FC president Ean Newbold said.

“Nick has a deep connection with both the Macleod Senior and Junior football clubs, and we look forward to him developing our existing and future group of young players moving forward.”
