NEW SENIOR MEN’S COACH

NEW SENIOR MEN’S COACH Owen Blizzard for 2027

Macleod Football Netball Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Owen Blizzard as Senior Men’s Coach and Ari Sciacca as Head of Development for the 2027 season.

Boasting more than 30 years’ experience between them, Owen and Ari have just completed a successful year coaching Old Paradians FC under-19s who reached last weekend’s preliminary final.

Owen is an experienced coach and over the past 20 years he has developed teams across junior and senior pathways while Ari also worked in coaching and development roles with teams in the Yarra Junior Football League and the NFNL.

Their focus at Macleod will be developing players from Youth Boys (under-17) and under-19s and building a connection with the senior environment, ensuring we continue to grow and build our senior men’s playing group.

“We are delighted to welcome Owen and Ari to Macleod Football Netball Club,” MFNC president Mick Lovett said.

“They have a proven track record of player development and a whole-of-club approach to getting the best out of every player.”

Owen and Ari will take over from outgoing senior coach Nick Lynch who stood down at season’s end due to business and family commitments.

Nick will be involved behind the scenes with Owen and Ari in a football operations role.

The future is bright at Macleod.
