Mick Lovett Returns as President for Macleod Football Netball Club in 2026

Macleod Football Netball Club is pleased to announce Mick Lovett will be returning as president for the 2026 season.

This will be Mick's third term having previously served as president between 2001-2004 and 2011-2013. A life member of MFNC and Macleod Junior Football Club, Mick has more than 20 years' experience serving on the committee of both clubs.

Mick said he is excited about the club's success on and off the field in 2025 and is looking forward to building on that base in 2026.

With so many new faces on board, we are keen for the pre-season to start next month and then build towards another successful season in 2026.

Mick was elected at last night's Annual General Meeting where he thanked outgoing presidents Damian Hurley and Russell Lew-Kee who steered the club in 2025 — Damian in the first half of the season and Russell in the last half.

Also recognised were outgoing treasurer Bryan Bottomley and committee people Bruce McDonald, Richard Crockford, Simone Harrington and John Greenwood. Special mention was made of Bruce's outstanding service over many decades to both the senior and junior clubs. He is a true living legend of the Macleod football community!

MFNC PRE-SEASON LAUNCH

The 2026 Pre-Season Launch will be held at Rosanna Bowling Club on Friday, November 7, starting at 6pm.

Senior men's coach Nick Lynch and senior women's coach Joel Steindl will outline their plans for pre-season training and what's ahead in season 2026.

You can also meet the new committee and hear from new president Mick Lovett.

The bar will be open and there is a free BBQ. All welcome!
