The club has been successful in securing $10,000 to upgrade canteen equipment through the NE Link Community Fund grants program.
This funding will allow the replacement of the old fryer (15 years old) and the upright freezer (over 10 years old). In addition, an automatic coffee machine will be purchased for use in the canteen.
Improving the equipment used by volunteers in the canteen makes the facility easier to use and produces benefits in energy efficiency and food safety for clubs using the canteen. The canteen is currently used by MFNC, Rosanna CC and Macleod JFC.
This comes in addition to a successful grant to purchase a high-speed commercial dishwasher for the canteen courtesy of Banyule City Council’s grants program.
Installation of the new equipment is expected in the new year.
