A message from the President

Thu 2nd of March at 3:53 pm Image

Welcome all to what I hope be a very exciting 2017 season.

2016 was a successful year for Macleod Football Club. We managed play in another Division 1 Grand Final and perform proudly as a club. This season we must give the Reserves and Under 19 teams every support to ensure that we make the finals. It is a key indicator for us as a club next year to strive for three teams to participate in finals.

It is also fantastic to see our netball teams introduce a second team this year and continued growth in this area is most encouraging.

I would like to take this opportunity to formally wish all the best to Garry Ramsay (seniors), Dave Doherty (reserves) and Scott Plant (under 19s) and all the coaching staff on the upcoming season. I am confident with our playing list we will have another exiting season.

As you may be aware, De Winton Park has been earmarked as the main building site for the Rosanna level crossing and track widening works.

I will continue to update members and supporters on this issue.

We are currently in negotiation with the Banyule City Council and LXRA in regard to disruption compensation for Macleod Football and Netball Club.

We have lodged a log of claims with both parties and negotiations are continuing. Vice-President Steve Doherty is heading these discussions on behalf of MFNC.

As you would understand this will impact on our ability to trade in 2018 and we will continue to fight hard for the best outcome for the club.

To this end however I must stress the need to have a successful 2017 to ensure we are in a solid position at the end of the season.

I would encourage every Macleod football and netball person to support the club via any of the following programs.

Golden Kangaroo Bryan Bottomley

Kanga Club Bruce McDonald/Richie Crockford

2017 Membership Richie Crockford

Full member $120
Female member $60
