On behalf of everyone at Macleod FC, we trust you have had an enjoyable festive season and for those lucky enough to still be on holidays, continue to rest up and relax.
The club is gearing up for another big season and over the next few months there will be plenty happening on and off the field.
On the field, there is a new-look senior leadership group which coach Garry Ramsay announced just before Christmas.
There will be co-captains in 2017, with Hamish Paynter and Justin White sharing the position previously held by Kane Shaw for more than a decade. The vice-captains will be Cathal Corr and Brad Leggett, and the deputy vice-captains are Liam Brandt and Lucas Hobbs.
Pre-season training recommences on Monday, January 30 at Ford Park, West Ivanhoe, at 6pm sharp. Closer to the start of the season we will return to De Winton Park. Practice match details will be sent out in the next few weeks.
The under-19s will also start training on January 30 at Ford Park under new coach Scott Plant and his assistants Dean Harrington and Ean Newbold. Dave Doherty will be looking after the reserves again in 2017.
The 2017 NFL home and away season starts on April 8 and we will be travelling to Hurstbridge to take on the 2016 Division 2 premiers in the opening round. Our 2017 fixture is below.
