The club is delighted to announce that Garry Ramsay has signed on to coach his fifth season in 2017.

The club is enjoying some great times at the moment, and this appointment will assist us with our long-term planning. After taking Macleod to an historic Division 1 flag in 2015 – our first in the top grade since 1971 – we are back to defend our title this year. The team has trained solidly this week and will round off its preparation next Tuesday and Thursday at De Winton Park. We look forward to seeing lots of supporters for the final session next Thursday when Garry has the tough job of selecting the Grand Final line-up to take on either Heidelberg or Greensborough. Get along for a meal and a drink. Good luck to Jack Langford who is playing for Essendon in Sunday’s VFL semi-final against Footscray at Port Melbourne.

Commiserations to the Macleod netball girls who were beaten in last week’s Grand Final by Kilmore. A large contingent of supporters was on hand to watch a great contest and the girls really appreciate your support. It was a wonderful effort to make the Grand Final after we had not fielded a side for several years. The plan is to have two sides playing in 2017 so if you are interested in joining, contact Jo McKeown on
